Doug Martin Injury: Updates on Buccaneers Star's Hamstring and Return

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' starting running back Doug Martin left Sunday afternoon's game against the Arizona Cardinals with a hamstring injury and has been listed as doubtful to return.

Martin told Roy Cummings of Fan Rag Sports he suffered a "slight tweak" to his hamstring and isn't sure when he'll be able to play again.

Martin departed after only seven carries for 23 yards. Either way though, the Tampa Bay running game might not be much of a factor in Week 3 with a hard matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on the horizon.

Martin was the second-leading rusher in the league past year, and the Bucs re-signed him to a big contract this offseason, hoping to continue to build their running game around their 2012 first-round pick.

Buccaneers tight end Luke Stocker left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury.

With Martin sidelined, Charles Sims will take over as the team's starter, while Peyton Barber or Jacquizz Rodgers will slide into the second-string role.
