Donald Cerrone vs. Robbie Lawler Signed For UFC 205

The first confirmed bout for the November 12 card at Madison Square Garden indicates they are off to a pretty good start. Lawler had been on a five-fight winning streak, which included taking the UFC welterweight championship from Johny Hendricks, and defending it against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit. According to MMAJunkie.com, former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (27-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) will fight red-hot Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (31-7 MMA, 18-4 UFC) in the first-ever MMA fight held in NY after the state lifted its ban on MMA.

The fight was originally suggested by Cerrone on Twitter and it comes at a time when he's established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the 170lb ranks since moving up in weight early in 2016. "Cowboy" was last seen beating the brakes off welterweight stalwart Rick Story at the UFC 202 extravaganza just last month.

Despite all the wars he's been in over the past few years since returning to the UFC, "Ruthless" is itching to get right back into the Octagon and given their fighting styles and eagerness to please the fans, fireworks are essentially guaranteed here.

Reacting to a spike in inflation and growing discontentment, Buhari's government finally devalued the naira in June. But that decision has reduced the flow of raw materials to the country's manufacturers.

The bout, however, will only be part of the event's main card and the event headliner has yet to be announced. It's also an opportunity for him to possibly win a title after losing twice to Rafael dos Anjos at 155.

Donald Cerrone appears to be on the fast track to a title shot in his new home at welterweight.

Bisping has already called out St. Pierre for a fight in December, but the MMA legend has yet to respond.
