Taylor Swift ditches MTV VMAs for jury duty

Pop superstar Taylor Swift was dismissed from jury duty in Nashville, Tennessee, after telling the judge she would most likely be biased.

The "Bad Blood" singer still offered to serve on a jury next time in any other type of case. The singer submitted a counterclaim the following month, in which according to her lawyers she had been "surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed" by the supposed assault. Swift claims that Mueller fondled her backside before a performance at the Denver Pepsi Center in June of 2013.

Another user who posted a photo of Swift with her mother on jury duty made her account private.

Taylor is demanding a jury trial and says any money she wins from the trial will go "to charities dedicated to protecting woman from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard".

Swift's participation in the justice system did mean she had to skip out on MTV's Video Music Awards, which were held Monday evening. Wearing a black shirt and minimal makeup, she mingled with fellow potential jurors who later happily shared on their social media pages pictures and video of them with the 26-year-old songbird. Beyond her notorious award show dancing, viewers at home were eager to see her present at Madison Square Garden following her already iconic feud with the Wests.

Taylor Swift has been dismissed from jury duty. He actually sued her first, after he was sacked over the allegations, and then she sued him back for groping her in the first place. Swift who asked to be excused.

Potential juror Michael Washington told the Tennessean, he didn't recognize Swift at first, saying "She's really a nice girl".

It was just seven years ago on the VMA stage that Kanye interrupted Taylor with his "I'm gonna let you finish but." speech.
