Body of 5-year-old girl found after Amber Alert

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says Zachary Todd Anderson, 26, may have taken Alayna Jeanne Ertl from her home sometime Saturday morning.

The body of a 5-year-old girl abducted from Meeker County was located in Cass County.

The suspect is 26-year-old Zachary Anderson. The stolen pickup authorities said he was driving was a white 2002 GMC Sierra with the Minnesota license plate 107 KMT.

Cruze also reported that the suspect Anderson had been located earlier and arrested in the rural area. The girl's mother discovered them gone at 8 a.m.

"Our suspect in this case is a family friend, co-worker of the victim's father, and was staying the night up in Watkins last night", Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze said Saturday night.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the missing 5-year-old girl within hours of when she reportedly was taken from her home, the SC Times reported.

Anderson was staying overnight at Ertl's house.

The body of a 5-year-old girl abducted from Meeker County was located in Cass County. The cellphone that was pinged to find that location has since been turned off.

Ertl is described as a white female, standing approximately 3 feet tall, weighing 45 pounds with shoulder-length sandy blonde hair. It is unknown what she was last wearing.
