Speaker: Can see why Trump comments rattle Mideast allies

Speaker: Can see why Trump comments rattle Mideast allies

Whatever happens in the November election, Ryan can use his perch in the House to buoy his vision of what the 21st century Republican Party stands for. The statement comes after w...

Kind believed that House Speaker Ryan's invitation was an important step in breaking down what he called the "hyper-partisanship" between Republicans and Democrats in Washington.

Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan made a definitive declaration on Tuesday telling the media and his party that he absolutely does not want to be president. "Let me be clear: I do not want nor will I accept the nomination of our party", said Ryan. "I think we should pass a budget and we're still talking with our members on how we can get that done".

The idea of finding a consensus nominee outside the Republican Party's 2016 candidate pool won't disappear, and neither will the massive hurdles for any such effort, according to NBC News. "It's better to do no budget this year than a bad budget", Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint said in an interview, echoing the sentiments of many conservatives in the House. He is one of the few Republicans left who understands that this current trajectory is one of Epic Fail. Yet Ryan himself has managed to remain popular, as all sides continue to profess admiration for his communication skills and his patient attempts to involve lawmakers in his deliberations.

"It's extremely frustrating", GOP Rep. Kevin Cramer of North Dakota said of the prospect of missing the approaching budget deadline. He praised Ryan's style, but added: "It's admirable in some ways but not producing results".

Get A First Look At Benedict Cumberbatch As 'Doctor Strange'
The as-yet-unnamed baddie will be played by Mads Mikkelsen , who can be briefly seen conjuring some reality-warping of his own. If the trailer is anything to go by, the two have worked very hard at trying to bring the hero properly to the big screen.

There is nothing in his successive budget plans from his time as committee chairman, nor in his stances favoring trade accords and tax breaks for the rich, to suggest that Ryan could appeal to the blue-collar and middle-class voters flocking to Trump, or Sanders, or even Clinton due to their promises of relief. The measure never became law.

In the meantime, House and Senate appropriators are moving forward on a dozen separate spending bills that actually fund agencies and programs. The circus surrounding what in any other year would be a statement of the obvious - a newly installed Speaker of the House does not wish to undo the will of thousands of voters and delegates in the dark of night at his party's convention - is simply the latest odd turn in a race replete with them. He offers thinly veiled criticism of Trump's candidacy and said Tuesday that "politics today tends to drift toward personality contests, not policy contests", and that "insults get more ink than ideas". He blamed Senate Republicans for stalling action on a budget to help protect some of those facing tough re-election races from having to take some tough votes. But on the other hand, we wake up every morning, desperate and terrified, praying, "Oh, dear God, let me manage to rise to the opportunities my privilege has granted", unsure of ourselves, just dumb enough to accept our own superiority and just sharp enough to be consumed with the travails of permanent imposter syndrome.

Ryan is helping ensure that they have the campaign cash to get elected.

Meanwhile, Ryan's personal campaign raised $4.6 million over the three-month period, which he finished with $7.6 million in the bank. That would allow his lead challenger, Texas Sen.

He said the 2016 nominee should be someone who has actually run this year and said he would urge delegates to pass a rule limiting the nomination only to actual candidates. Boehner, his predecessor, presided over five successful budgets. Boehner was working with a smaller GOP majority but had an advantage since conservatives were relatively sheepish after the 2013 government shutdown that they sparked. He personally favors comprehensive immigration reform, but last year he promised Republican hard-liners that he wouldn't advance a bill on immigration during President Obama's final year in office.
